5th & 6th Grade Tackle FootballYouth Recreation5th and 6th Grade Tackle Football Youth tackle football program for students entering 5th & 6th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Basic football techniques, position techniques, team plays, and SAFETY will be the key elements taught in this program. This is a padded, full-contact activity. The Minnewaska Football Association will provide helmets, pads, pants, jerseys, and mouth guards. Cleats (rubber soles only)/shoes, athletic cup, etc., will be the player's responsibility. Approximately six games are to be played within the Willmar football league. Tentative games are on Thursday nights @ 7:00 p.m. Game schedule is TBD. Possible other scrimmages throughout the season. USA Football-certified coaching staff. AcquaticsOur Aquatics programs offer opportunities for participants of all ages to build confidence, develop swimming skills, and stay active in the water. From beginner swim lessons to advanced skill development, each program is designed to promote water safety, personal growth, and lifelong fitness. Beginning BandYouth EnrichmentBeginning Band “Kick-Start” Lessons! Incoming 5th grade (or brand new) band students are invited to be part of a “kick-off” week before school starts to get a jump start on their instruments. We directors highly recommend students attend if possible, as it really helps students get started successfully! Driver's Education - In-Person, Classroom Instruction (30 Hours)Youth EnrichmentOffered through MAS Community Education in partnership with Roadworthy Driver’s Education For teens ready to begin their journey toward earning a driver’s license, the State of Minnesota requires a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction before taking the written permit exam. While online options are available, we know that online learning isn’t the right fit for every student. That’s why we’re excited to bring an in-person classroom experience to Minnewaska, with a knowledgeable Roadworthy instructor leading every session. Students will benefit from real-time conversation, hands-on learning, and a structured environment built for success.
