5th and 6th Grade Tackle Football Youth tackle football program for students entering 5th & 6th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Basic football techniques, position techniques, team plays, and SAFETY will be the key elements taught in this program. This is a padded, full-contact activity. The Minnewaska Football Association will provide helmets, pads, pants, jerseys, and mouth guards. Cleats (rubber soles only)/shoes, athletic cup, etc., will be the player's responsibility. Approximately six games are to be played within the Willmar football league. Tentative games are on Thursday nights @ 7:00 p.m. Game schedule is TBD. Possible other scrimmages throughout the season. Beginning Band “Kick-Start” Lessons! Incoming 5th grade (or brand new) band students are invited to be part of a “kick-off” week before school starts to get a jump start on their instruments. Offered through MAS Community Education in partnership with Roadworthy Driver’s Education For teens ready to begin their journey toward earning a driver’s license, the State of Minnesota requires a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction before taking the written permit exam. While online options are available, we know that online learning isn’t the right fit for every student. That’s why we’re excited to bring an in-person classroom experience to Minnewaska, with a knowledgeable Roadworthy instructor leading every session. Students will benefit from real-time conversation, hands-on learning, and a structured environment built for success. Minnewaska Community Education is partnering with Uptown Florist to offer a Fall Artificial Planter Arrangement Class on Saturday, September 20. Participants will create a beautiful autumn-themed arrangement featuring a mix of seasonal florals, foliage, and decorative accents arranged in a rustic wooden planter box. With guidance from a professional florist, participants will design and assemble a custom arrangement that brings the warmth and beauty of fall into their home or office. Best of all, this artificial arrangement can be enjoyed all season long with no watering or maintenance required. Minnewaska Laker Dance Team Fall Performance Team Come join the Minnewaska Laker Dance Team Fall Performance Team! Participants will learn and perform in the dance genres of Hip Hop and Pom while building confidence, teamwork, and performance skills in a fun and energetic environment. Athletes do not need to be a member of the winter competitive dance team to participate.
